The Dewey Decimal Classification, DDC, or Dewey Decimal System, is the system developed in the nineteenth century to arrange books according to their topic. Books are assigned a number between 000 and 999, with numbers after the decimal place also designated to provide more detail. The attached file is an overview of the DDC.
